A native of Michigan, Alissa moved out to the east coast in the fall of 1999 to work with a local agency. After achieving her certification, CI and CT (2002), and winning several company awards (Above and Beyond Award, Performing Arts Interpreter of the Year Award, and Professional Staff Interpreter of the Year Award), Ms. Enders also served as the chair of their Professional Development Committee for several years, was a Team Leader, and lead large groups of interpreters at conferences.

In private practice Alissa enjoys interpreting in a myriad of settings. Among those she finds most rewarding are sign-to-voice work, platform, scientific/technical, rallies & protests and all things political.

In addition to her CI and CT certification, Alissa also recently received her NIC certification (2007) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).  In addition, she served as the Program Committee Chair for the 2007 Potomac Chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (PCRID) Conference and moderates an internet web group focused on helping others pass the NIC certification exam. Alissa also served as a mentor interpreter at the Support the Gap conference helping to bring new interpreters into the field. Lastly, she is proud to now be an official mentor interpreter with the Interpreter Training Program (ITP) at the Community College of Baltimore-Catonsville (CCBC).
